What's a good way to present flight tickets home for her birthday?

My girlfriend and I both go to school together, but she has to go early for some training. There is a dead long weekend, which coincides with her birthday, and she's very sad she wont have anyone to celebrate it with. I bought her plane tickets home. Now, I will see her a few days before, so what's a good way to give her, her early birthday gift? I was thinking of making a homemade greeting card of an airplane and the flight number, with a picture of her, and it traveling from school to home. Real cheesy but it might work. What do you think?
