Should churches be criminally prosecuted if they file a insurance claim for roof damage from a hurricane ..?
How can an as you say "an act of god" be considered fraud, when hurricanes, tornados and other disasters constantly happen. Would you say the same thing if the question was about a fire that someone purposly set? If a church, synagogue, or other religious place of worship were to catch fire or another disaster would happen, I would not hesitate to contact insurance company, because that is what insurance is for. You pay into it, and if something happens and it turns out that you weren't the cause for it you should be entitled to the insurance coverage benefits. no questions asked.
