Should a person have the right to claim to be the messiah?

....on the street, giving out leaflets, just like the Christians do and the Muslims too. He could claim, tongue in cheek, to represent the Almighty Thud. Yada yada yada. I reckon online he'd get away with it, and people would notice the irreverant sarcastic humour, but on the streets they would want to lock him up. Why the difference? Should there be a legal right? Lets ume he's only taking the ****, and doesn't really have "delusions." Are we really a free society, or are the orthodox faithful potentially too violent and serious to allow such a thing to occur?
