How the heck do i make the music notes [and more]?

on certain fonts (Ihave a Mac too) you can do the period key then the foward slash key ./ but this font wont do it.... I believe it was Ariel or whatever the heck it is and it will do it on that font. sorry if that doesn't help.... how do you do the little heart and club thing? oh by the way the alt. key is next to the little apple in your keyboard (bottom left) but this waht I got when I held down the alt key and went thru all the number's ¡™£¢∞§¶•ª º then I went thru all the other signs (still w/ alt key) –≠“‘«…æ≤≥÷` pretty cool I didn't know that existed...
