HELP! uninsured/suspended licensed driver hit me!?

ok so my infiniti g35 got hit by a piece of crap, beat up camry! the driver rear ended but has a suspended license and carry no insurance. at first they try to talk me to not contact the police and ped their phone to talk to her brother. he told me that they will cover the cost of the damage and whatnot but to not contact police, i simply said no and proceeded to get in contact with the authorities. the suspended/uninsured driver also had a penger that did not have papers as well so she couldn't take the blame and the brother showed up too late to cover up her sister's mess. i believe i made the right choice of contacting the police. i don't believe they would've covered the cost in damages done to my car, if they can't afford insurance what makes you think they would pay for the damages done to mine? anyways my question is how screwed am i? i checked my insurance coverage and i do not have uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. i have not yet contacted my insurance company (state farm). the suspended/uninsured driver is at fault and was given 3 citations. i would appreciate any suggestions! i also live in Florida by the way, thanks
