Gloss paint feels like plastic how can i make it more durable?

i gloss painted my motorcycle frame blue but the paint after two days is almost like a hard plastic if i sc at it it comes off do i need to varnish it or is here a specal clearcoat? i used a type of clearcoat on the paint on my testpatch and th clearcoati spayed on it caused it to bubble and crack what do i do?
